Taste the Rainbow tampico turkey wing whisk broom handmade by Robert Sheckler of Redmond Philbert Handwork, Yarmouth, ME.
Tampico is a soft agave fiber that makes this broom versatile and all natural. The handle is made to look like a roll of Lifesavers. Yum! The gray organic cotton yarn is accentuated with colorful wool yarns Robert made in a natural dyeing class using cochineal, marigold, brazilwood, mulberry, and madder on wool. Made from tampico, vegan leather loop, organic cotton yarn, and wool yarn.
Measures approximately 12″ long. Great for cleaning pet hair off of clothing and upholstery!
Handmade brooms are truly pieces of functional art, as beautiful as they are practical. Natural tampico, a renewable resource, simply sweeps better than synthetic plastic alternatives. Plus, you’ll never want to hide this striking piece of art in a closet or a cupboard!
Robert is an enthusiastic learner, teacher, and crafter living and working in the Portland area. Beyond the visceral joy of broom-making, Robert is interested in elevating natural materials over synthetic alternatives and loves to incorporate color into his work, making an everyday object and an everyday activity feel special, vibrant, and even fun.
