“The Peddler” is a handmade doll by Nancy Mendez of Alexandria, VA. Made from a vintage 1960’s reproduction kit of china doll parts, Nancy then makes the body, and dresses the doll in period-correct clothing with antique buttons, linens, and lace, stitched on her 1923 Singer sewing machine.
The Peddler wears a red cloak, much like a Shaker-style! She is peddling her basket full of random odds and ends including a birdcage, water pitcher, dog toy, wine, pincushion, pastries, and more.
Measures approximately 19″ tall
100% of the retail price will be donated to the Shaker Herb House Cultural Center Capital Campaign, by Nancy’s request. We thank her and you for your generous support!
