These wonderful forms are a peaceful reminder of the natural world we live within. Forged to the a leaf shape, the stem end features a rolled eye to hold a round black leather cord with double slip adjustment knots that will accommodate the pendant sitting in a number of positions on you. A firm hand rubbed finish is highlighted by a hot application of bronze and given two coats of tough clear enamel. Completely hand forged one at a time utilizing the same tried and true methods that have been used for centuries. Handmade by Dereck Glaser of Winthrop, Maine.
As each is individually hand made, each is unique in design/shape with the sizes varying slightly- pendant is approximately 2-3″ long.
Dereck has taught and demonstrated through out the Eastern United States for craft schools and various regional blacksmithing groups. His work reflects a sincere approach to working with metals and emphasizes the methods and reasoning behind joinery and the design aspects dictated by the limits and characteristics of the material. In 2000 Dereck started the New England School of Metalwork in Auburn, Maine where he is the Metalsmithing Program Director, Administrative Director, and the resident blacksmithing instructor. Dereck pursues custom architectural and interior commissions as well as one of a kind and limited series of hand forged sculpture and custom blades.
