These letterpress seed packets are made by our friends at Grant House Press in East Chatham, NY. Filled with Calendula seeds, these are made to grow your own gorgeous yellow & orange flowers, that can be dried and used for many purposes!
Calendula (pot marigold) was used in tinctures to treat cuts, burns and sprains; as a natural dye; and as a culinary herb. Shakers at Sabbathday Lake continue to grow and package dried calendula petals, described as the ‘poor man’s saffron.”
Paper seed envelopes were invented by the Sabbathday Lake Shakers!
These seed packets are a fundraiser for our Shaker Herb House Project, with all money being donated to the cause– thank you for your support!
