These letterpress seed packets are made by our friends at Grant House Press in East Chatham, NY. Filled with Calendula seeds, these are made to grow your own gorgeous yellow & orange flowers, that can be dried and used for many purposes!
Calendula (pot marigold) was used in tinctures to treat cuts, burns and sprains; as a natural dye; and as a culinary herb. Shakers at Sabbathday Lake continue to grow and package dried calendula petals, described as the ‘poor man’s saffron.”
Paper seed envelopes were invented by the Sabbathday Lake Shakers!
