“Blues Traveler” Double Turkey Wing Whisk Broom handmade by Robert Sheckler of Redmond Philbert Handwork, Yarmouth, ME.

Blue and Natural colored linen cording are bound around the full length of the handle, accentuating the natural and dyed blue broomcorn that make up this artfully crafted hand broom.

The double turkey wing style is beautiful hanging on the wall and is useful in sweeping larger spaces rather than into a dustpan.  It could be used to sweep steps, get a few leaves off of the porch, or sweep off a table.  Avoid direct sunlight to keep colors bright.

Measures approximately 18″ long and 12″ wide.

Handmade corn brooms are truly pieces of functional art, as beautiful as they are practical. Natural broomcorn, a renewable resource, simply sweeps better than synthetic plastic alternatives. Plus, you’ll never want to hide this striking piece of art in a closet or a cupboard!

Robert is an enthusiastic learner, teacher, and crafter living and working in the Portland area. Beyond the visceral joy of broom-making, Robert is interested in elevating natural materials over synthetic alternatives and loves to incorporate color into his work, making an everyday object and an everyday activity feel special, vibrant, and even fun.
