• Plain & Shibori dyed by Jamie Ribisi-Braley of Auburn, ME, this salvaged antique linen table runner & cloth napkins have been given a new life as two lavender pillows. These pillows are stuffed with Shaker lavender and recycled Poly-fil; giving your room a fragrant calming effect while also providing comfort as a usable pillow. The intricate embroidered butterfly linen runner was cut in half to give an envelope fold cover to each pillow and are paired with cloth napkins that have been acid dyed with Shibori patterns (fold and dye technique). Jamie loves to find handmade pieces that need some love and rescue them.  This not only reduces our textile waste in landfills, but honors and continues a tradition of handmade fiber art for the household.  Jamie is the Office Manager here at Shaker Village and loved spreading handmade traditional arts around the world! Use with glee. These pillows measure 14" x 10" each and are made from the same antique table runner.  Please note that item 7B has a darker dye spot on the back (see photos) Would be fantastic as a matching set or can live on their own.
  • Shibori dyed by Jamie Ribisi-Braley of Auburn, ME, this salvaged antique linen table runner has been given a new life as two lavender pillows. The soft pink dye accentuates the floral embroidery and lacework edges of these pillows stuffed with Shaker lavender and recycled Poly-fil; giving your room a fragrant calming effect while also providing comfort as a usable pillow. The cloth has been acid dyed with Shibori patterns (fold and dye technique) - this give the designs a soft pink on top of the pale yellow linen, overdying the colors of embroidery thread, as well.  Backed with a salvaged piece of linen woven yardage. • These letterpress seed packets are made by our friends at Grant House Press in East Chatham, NY.  Filled with Calendula seeds, these are made to grow your own gorgeous yellow & orange flowers, that can be dried and used for many purposes! Calendula (pot marigold) was used in tinctures to treat cuts, burns and sprains; as a natural dye; and as a culinary herb.  Shakers at Sabbathday Lake continue to grow and package dried calendula petals, described as the 'poor man's saffron." Paper seed envelopes were invented by the Sabbathday Lake Shakers! These seed packets are a fundraiser for our Shaker Herb House Project, with all money being donated to the cause-- thank you for your support!
