Handmade pincushion with needle punch bird perched on top by Bonnie Faulkner of Yarmouth, Maine. This piece is absolutely darling and a perfect gift for any needle-wielding creator! The blue bird is made with a punch needle technique with DMC floss, a bead eye, and a felted wool wing on the front side. Back side of the bird is blue felt. Pincushion is made from cotton fabric and the bottom is lined with felt to keep it stable on your table. Cotton filled cushion.

If they don’t know what that is then I explain you use a hollow thin needle with colored thread running through it. The thread punches through your design on fabric and makes a loop on one side, many loops create an image. It’s very three dimensional in look.
