September Retreat for Women
Sunday, September 18 – Wednesday, September 21, 2022
Shaker missionaries arrived in Maine in the 1780s and from that time to now have been a presence in Maine life and history. The retreat is your opportunity to reside at the active Community of Sabbathday Lake Shakers in New Gloucester, Maine.
You will participate in worship and work of various varieties – history tours, research projects, music, farm assignments, reading, and prayer — all beginning with Sunday Meeting at 10am.
Led by Brother Arnold Hadd of the Sabbathday Lake Shakers, Reverend Lynne Josselyn, retired clergy friend of the Shakers, and Leonard L. Brooks, retired Director of the Shaker Museum and Library.
Contact Lenny Brooks with any questions prior to registering and paying here at thefavoriteleonard@aol.com or call 207-926-3188.
Limit: 4 women
Cost: $300 per person; includes private room & communal board.
