1pm-4pm Eastern (10am Pacific / 11am Mountain)
Virtual via Zoom
Let’s make a beautiful 8″ cardinal by needle felting with Shaker Village neighbor and friend Betsey Leslie of Ewes to You Farm in New Gloucester.
Needle felting is the process of transforming wool into 3D objects using a barbed needle. When you felt wool, you’re agitating the fibers so they bond together, creating a solid fabric. In this virtual workshop you will learn how to incorporate an armature (a wire framework to create legs). If you’ve taken any basic needle felting class then this is the next step in creating fun sculptures with posable parts.
Your kit will include everything needed for this workshop and to make a second bird on your own! Each participant will receive:
- 5 Felting Needles
- 1 Foam Felting Block
- Core Wool in Natural White
- Wool in red, dark brown, gray, and orange
- Wire for feet
All the wool is hand-dyed by Betsey, custom made for this workshop and projects.
Be sure to register early (registration closes Jan 3 at 1pm EST) so that we can mail your kit out to you in time (local customers may pick-up kits at Shaker Village, just include a note with your order).
