The Shakers Celebrate 250 Years in America by Hosting an Academic Conference!

Mark your calendars and save the date! Join the Sabbathday Lake Shakers and cultural scholars nationwide for the Shakers’ 250th Anniversary Celebration of the Shaker Experience in America!

The Shakers are commemorating the arrival of Mother Ann Lee and the First Parents in 1774 with an onsite conference of unprecedented scope and design. New scholarship, panel discussions, special site tours, project reviews, and concerts and singing will culminate on Arrival Day, Tuesday, August 6th with a Commemorative Public Meeting celebrating 250 years of the Shakers’ achievements, example, and influence. All are called to attend!
