A Concise Statement of Principles.
This pamphlet was first issued in 1790 and provided the first theological treatise written by the Shakers. This edition originally appeared in the Shaker Quarterly in 1963, with an introduction penned by Brother Theodore Johnson.

Mace, Sister Aurelia G. - The Aletheia.
This is the second and much expanded edition of 1907. The book contains a series of letters and essays on the life and faith of Believers. The author was brought up at Sabbathday Lake from infancy. She served in many positions of trust including caretaker for the girls, schoolteacher for over twenty years, Second Eldress, Trustee and frequent lecturer on the Shakers. The text is augmented by thirty-five photographs.

Original Shaker Music.
This is the so-called "First Volume" was published by the members of the North Family, Mount Lebanon, NY in 1884. This hymnal remains in constant use here at Sabbathday Lake for public worship services. The bindings are reinforced to guarantee many years of use.
